Anthony Hammes is the great grandson of John William Hammes, who invented the garbage disposal in his basement and started his business, InSinkErator, right here in Racine. The company is still in Racine and the Hammes family has improved the community with donations such as Hammes Field.
Anthony's leadership skills began in his high school and college years. He was the captain of his basketball and soccer teams and was nominated for all-state. Whatever project Tony undertakes gets his dedication and hard work. When Tony sees a need in his community, he steps forward, whether its running for school board or running for state assembly. He believes true leaders are those men and women who are willing to take a moderate stand to bring about meaningful change.
Tony's wife of 15 years, Dr. Diana Turner is a well known local physician. Dr. Turner has been a practicing physician for 20 years and is beloved by her patients and respected by her colleagues.
Tony is the father of a young teenager who excels at everything he does. He's a straight A student, athlete, musician and much more. His ambition in life is to receive his MD and PhD and become a Nuerosurgeon/Nuerochemist.
Tony's brother, John WIlliam Hammes III has been a member of The United States military for 18+ years and is currently a Chief Strategy Officer. He's a proud supporter of Warriors Ethos.
Anthony is a strong advocate for mental health and is a proud member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
An effective transition experience for service members to have the opportunity to learn civilian cultural competency (up close and personal), learn out how to “sell” themselves in an interview situation, and develop the beginning of a professional civilian network.
