Hammes comes from a family of successful visionaries. His great-grandfather invented the garbage disposal and started the company InSinkErator. It is now an international manufacturing company. The Hammes family are proud philanthropists, whether it’s donating hospital wings or simply volunteering for local organizations. They practice what they preach. They are owners of both small and large businesses and are a family of educators.
Anthony's leadership skills began in his high school and college years. He was the captain of his basketball and soccer teams and was nominated for all-state. Whatever project Tony undertakes gets his dedication and hard work.
Anthony is running for Congress because we need leaders willing to work together. "We are facing a healthcare crisis in America, including mental health, and I want to be part of the solution. I’ve spent years getting new protocols put into place in a state hospital. I’ve heard and seen firsthand the conditions and barriers many patients have faced regarding mental health care. I was asked to go and speak before state legislators to tell these stories. I said I'll do you one better I’ll become one. I am now a board member for the National Alliance on Mental Illness. I've also advocated and fought hospitals for LGBTQ+ healthcare rights and am committed to continuing this work in Congress. I have lived my life by facing obstacles head-on and fought to make dreams a reality."
Anthony's family lives in Caledonia, where he's a Trustee on the Village Board. He is a loving father and godfather to two teenagers and a devoted husband to his beautiful wife of 16 years, Dr. Diana Turner, a a well known local physician. Dr. Turner has been a practicing physician for 20 + years and is beloved by her patients and respected by her colleagues, in Racine WI, where Tony was born and raised.
Tony's teenage son is a honor roll student, athlete, musician, volunteer and much more. His ambition in life is to receive his MD and PhD and become a Nuerosurgeon/Nuerochemist.
Tony's brother, John WIlliam Hammes III has been a member of The United States military for 18+ years and is currently a Chief Strategy Officer. He's a proud supporter of Warriors Ethos.
Anthony is a strong advocate for mental health and is on the board of directors for the National Alliance on Mental Illness
I am Anthony Hammes. To those that don’t know me yet. My family and I live in Caledonia, where I’m a Trustee on the Village Board. I am a loving father and godfather to two teenagers and a devoted husband to my beautiful wife of 16 years, Dr. Diana Turner, a local physician in Racine, Wisconsin, where I was born and raised.
I come from a family of successful visionaries. My great-grandfather invented the garbage disposal and started the company InSinkErator. Which is now an international manufacturing company. The Hammes family are proud philanthropists, whether it’s donating hospital wings or simply volunteering for local organizations. Our family practices what we preach. We are owners of both small and large businesses, military veterans and we are a family of educators.
Look, we're facing a healthcare crisis in America, including mental health, and I want to be part of the solution. I have lived my life by facing obstacles head-on and fought to make dreams a reality.
But it's not just about healthcare. We need to come together as a country and find common ground. Hate crimes and gun violence are rising, and we can't let hate and misinformation continue to divide us any longer. We must teach that words are harmful, are weapons, and can cut deep. We must lead with humanity and respect if we expect change.
I believe in equal rights for all. Women must have the right to choose what's best for their healthcare needs. We must do more to combat climate change, economic stability and support our public schools. And we must protect our social security and implement common-sense gun laws.
Instead of being a unifier, our government has become a US vs Them entity. It’s time to extend the hand across the aisle and find where we agree, and move this country forward, but without hate or ignorance, but with humanity. We are a country defined by a promise to be a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. So, we have work to do.
Visions, words and ideas are great, but they’re only a dream unless the visionary can bring such ideas to fruition. So, I'm asking for your support and vote for Anthony Hammes for United States Congress.
An effective transition experience for service members to have the opportunity to learn civilian cultural competency (up close and personal), learn out how to “sell” themselves in an interview situation, and develop the beginning of a professional civilian network.
